High hba1c

Strangely enough I feel absolutely fine, apart from the day to day diabetes symptoms, could this be a wrong reading?
It certainly could be, as @Hopeful34 said I would check with a glucometer, but what do you mean by day to day diabetic symptoms?

Urinating alot, headaches, extreme thirst, tiredness. This reading is from a finger prick test. How accurate are they generally?

In future if you get such a high reading, i'd suggest washing your hands and repeating the test just in case you've got a bad test strip. Also checking your test strips are in date? Meters have to be accurate to within +/-15%.

As @Antje77 says if your readings are still very high, please get medical advice.

She's running some more bloods as I also have rapid hair thinning and loss. No the weight loss was a suprise and my diet was of a greedy piglet who hadn't believed diabetes was part of their life. I do believe I have a sugar addiction. It's hard but needs must now. I lost it in about 6to8 months.
Did you have antibody tests for T1? Are you checking ketones too?

All your symptoms are very familiar to me; my sister had a whopping high HbA1c too, but zero antibodies following a spell on antibiotics, then covid and a 'Christmas' diet. There are many 'causes', I hope they get to the route of yours asap.
