that sounds a lot of cauliflower --2.1 CHO per 100 grams boiled can't imagine the cheese having carbs --aahh !! the milkHam mushroom cheese omelette. Got cauliflower cheese to snack on this has 9g of carbs total. Sound ok?
Ok update. Just took levels as felt a bit odd and they are 14.8 this is two hours and forty minutes after. Ive been hoovering trying to get them down. About to eat a ham and mushroom omelette...
Have you also checked that your pen is working and insulin is actually coming out of it, also the needles?
that is actually a very good shout @CarbsRok -- i ALWAYS use 1 unit injected into the air to make sure insulin delivery is functioning properly before i injectHave you also checked that your pen is working and insulin is actually coming out of it, also the needles?
Not to sure think it's more like 20 units. I seem to remember that from somewhere. I've never used pens just syringes and a pump.Didn't a one unit dose fill a cap? May have that incorrect, just remember something a while back...

Its asdas extra special not my homemade version. I may give it a miss. Had the omelette. Levels now 15.6that sounds a lot of cauliflower --2.1 CHO per 100 grams boiled can't imagine the cheese having carbs --aahh !! the milk
shouldn't be too bad but i would take 2 units for 9CHO with what you have been going through lately
as it is mid day and you took fast acting at about 9am you are just around 60% through this dose -- i would stack ( take another dose now)myself personally - possibly another 4/5 units -- ( but as i keep saying like a broken record i am not telling you to do this )Its asdas extra special not my homemade version. Ok. I havent wrote anything down, will start from this am and do that. Im going out later for about two hours on my own and im wary of hypos (I know. Insane right?) Midday is where my levels tend to be lower. But saying that they are at 15.6. and keep testing , stay here with us and write it all down
ok -- if you have to go out please be sure to carry glucose and take all your kit ( testing and insulin) with you and please please please let us know when you get back that you are safe and well -- and keep testing too ( do i sound like a dad now or what -- LOL )Ok. Totally agree. Will make a list of things to discuss on Monday with them..@Icarter, I'm sure I've mentioned this on one of your other threads, but it does look like your having some serious insulin resistance problems at the moment, ask your HCP's about starting on a drug called Metformin, although this drug is mainly prescribed to type 2's it is also prescribed to type 1's who are experiencing difficulties with IR.
Yes I will check them at 1240 as thats four hours since first load of bolus correcting, ans one hour since my last bg check.Yes check hourly if able.
Well done on arm!!
It wld be good to stay less carbs but not the end of the world.
Normally I would suggest 5 hours inbetween bolus's for food if possible but as you having to do so many corrections then this seems irrelevent.. Just enabling to see what happens with bolus's...
yes please -- i would like it if you checked every hour until bedtime tonight-- we want to try and break this cycle of 15+ at all readingsI may give it a miss. Its joining slimming world so maybe better starting that when this is sorted.
I took 4 units by the way, injected into my arm. Should I check in an hour? Also am I avoiding carbs all day?
You are all super helpful.
I would normally completely agree with @donnellysdogs and do not advocate stacking insulin doses.Yes check hourly if able.

Is it possible to just become insulin resistant? Ive kept diaries since November and that is how long this has been going on. I was diagnosed with labyrinthirus in November but that seems to have gone this past month.yes please -- i would like it if you checked every hour until bedtime tonight-- we want to try and break this cycle of 15+ at all readings
you don't have to avoid carbs but keep as low as you can and try to eat protein if you can.
@noblehead mentions the metformin as an additional medicine for insulin resistance and i do agree that is something to be mentioned to your care team when you go in.
also have you googled "Brittle Diabetes" - I would like you to look at that and see how closely if at all you relate to any of it-- it is also something you may wish to mention to your care team.
