High sugar levels AGAIN feeling upset :(

Just wondering.

If I keep on virtually low carbs all through to bedtime is this like a basal test?

I was going to have a jacket spud for tea but will have pate and crackers cheese and pickles.

Also would we stick with 24 lantus I increased last night?

Also what are everyones thoughts so far?

Sorry for all questions!

Is it possible to just become insulin resistant? Ive kept diaries since November and that is how long this has been going on. I was diagnosed with labyrinthirus in November but that seems to have gone this past month.

Brittle diabetes- I don't have lows suddenly really unless its midday..for some reason my insulin works faster then.

Something is going on though.
I
Hi, something is definitely going on. Could your midday low's, be because you are more active in the morning.?
You are in need of some proffessional help soon, if it doesn't come down further or it shoots up again.

Pleased you did your arm area, I hope you were okay with it, it's not so bad. really/

You are doing well with all the advice and support, often that can be half the battle.

RRB :) Take good care x

I wonder what it is..so annoying. Yes at 13.5 with no carbs talk about high levels!!

Arm area fine no problems. Just never used it before.

Yes they are high, I have had very high highs during illness and accidents, but I knew why it was. One time I had a 16.8 took correction dose and it went up to over 19  worrying, but eventually with more correction it did eventually come down. This diabetes is a big pain in the backside at times and my teenager knows when I'm thoroughly cheesed off with it, bless her, as I have a big moan about the levels to her :banghead: :bag:

So right there with you and fingers crossed for (hopefully) better readings :)x

Went to bed on 8.0 last night, woke up to 15.3, so shocked (again) and I carb count, but it's the couple of sweets or an alcoholic drink, as I don't normally drink or eat chocolate sweets or bars, but have extra Insulin for this anyway, it's so maddening

We can really hope so!!!! Just hope it doesn't go too low...!!!

Yes, with the amount of Insulin you have taken and no carbs, but you are doing well by keeping on top of it and keep on testing. (((((( hugs))))))

Diabetes is soooooo complex !
It does its own thing and has its own empowering prescence
within our bodies .
We feel its effects for sure - but can never actually see the mechanics of it ...
Only the testing of our BG levels reveals things via numbers ranges
to us .

Unseen yet felt via physical symptoms or the BG levels - it is indeed a very frustrating condition .

Constant troughing and peaking blood sugar levels are very difficult to self manage alone .
Professional guidance and regular appointments with good after care are needed .
Until you find your unit ranges needed to hold a much steadier profile .

I have been in the same situation as yourself - was seeing my DSN every 3 weeks
and titrated my insulin up by 5 units each weekend .
Endless diaries being kept to monitor my own progress or failure !
Yep - I did fail - many times over - till found my ranges needed .

Careful and mindful food choices can limit the constant extreme troughing and peaking
it is a long process and journey with food spike trials .
Trial with foods that spike high and eliminate them .
Keep with the foods that don't spike you as high or greatly .
Gradually all will start to make sense and you will find your way through .

It is a pain in the rear end - but gradually all will become clearer .:)
It is an individual journey - can feel a lonely one too .
That is how and why we can reach out to this forum
Rich in support with wonderful members and plentiful useful info
to read up on .

Suddenly I feel unwell with a dodgy tummy. Not sure if related but telling you everything!

Test again - if going high again ?
You really need professional guidance .

Dodgy tummy ? - loo ? nausea ?

Just about to eat, going for cheese and crackers. Shall I bolus again or not? Its coming up to 3 hours after last bolus. Also should I correct again and what ratio should I use for food? Im thinking 2:10g for food and no correction until main meal later. Any advice appreciated.

well this puts a slightly different take on things -- if you feel unwell and sometimes even if you dont you could have an infection and this will cause blood sugars to rise a lot.

also -- could it just be your stomach telling you it is starving ??

The problem is we are not medical proffessionals and tbh I really think you need to phone 111 and get proper advice. It could be unsafe to advise and we wouldn't want to see you ill and suffering.x
Tummy problems could be an overload of Insulin ?? unsure though, please get the right help.

It is the loo.

Im going to eat as im ravenous now. Again should I correct? Will use 2:10g ratio for crackers so they are 5.5g on each and im having four. 22g total so 4.5 units.
