Highest/lowest Reading

5.6 lowest at 1830 yesterday (30/7), before evening meal.
10.8 highest (ever) at 2130, three hours after eating (pizza).
 
5.2 lowest at 1845 yesterday (31/7), before evening meal.
6.4 highest two hours after evening meal, fbg was also 6.4.
 
6.0 lowest on Thursday (1/8) before evening meal.
9.2 highest two hours later.

4.9 lowest yesterday (2/8) at 1910 before evening meal.
8.2 highest two hours after evening meal - but it had gone down to 7.3 an hour later.
 
6.2 lowest before evening meal yesterday (3/8).
7.8 highest at 2115 two hours after evening meal.
 
I love this thread. Just what I need right now. Only losing weight if kept low. Throughout.

My first ever post. I am getting frustrated as trying really hard to get my diet right. No naughty food consumed at all for months and am doing my best to stick to a low carb diet but it all seems to no have no effect. This morning on waking my level was 10.4 and 2 hours after a porridge and blueberries breakfast my level has risen to 15.3. It now seems I cannot continue with porridge! This is depressing as all food I like is bad for me and starting to see that I may have to go to insulin jabs to get levels down. Does anyone else ever feel like this? I had thought that porridge was ok and a slow energy release breakfast. Not sure I will get an answer but I just have to write this down
 
Hi @Wardy695 . Welcome to the thread and to the forum. Some people are ok with porridge. I used to eat it for breakfast in the winter until I tested and found it raised my bg from around 6.3 to 10.4.
I don't eat breakfast usually now, I just have a mug of coffee with sweetener and double cream. But if you do need to have breakfast, bacon, eggs, kippers, high meat content sausages, tomatoes and mushrooms are all good.
As an alternative to cereals and porridge you could try coconut porridge or chia pudding.

Lowest was 4.4 on waking.
