Doesn't very much sound like 'naughty' food to me, more like a pretty normal snack, especially because you took insulin for it.Peckish again after my evening meal, craving 'naughty' food. Just had an 18g bar of chocolate (10g carbs per bar) and some belvita biscuits (30g carbs per pack) so a total of 40g carbs. I did take insulin for it however I'm stressing it's going to throw me off
Oh, yikes, I had no idea about bank holidays with my reminder, being in the Netherlands.Of course it was a Bank Holiday in the UK today.. hope you have better luck getting through to somebody in the mental health team tomorrow.
It can be strange in UK some areas can have bank holidays where others don't... Eg where I am wasn't. If went mainland across water wasOh, yikes, I had no idea about bank holidays with my reminder, being in the Netherlands.
Oops, and again...(edit fixed typo? well forgot to hit a keystoke it appears.. srange to strange)
'Naughty' food explanation, a couple of reasons.Wow Philly.. am impressed by your progress the last few days, way to go. You’re doing good, keep it up!

I wonder why you designate some foods as ‘naughty’? With the help of a CGM I have discovered that eating some foods is not such a good idea for me, like white rice, bananas, fruit juice, breakfast cereals.. unless I go low and need to get my sugar level up! Not happening lately.. think my pancreas has finally given up completely. But none of those foods are ‘naughty’.
I decided last week that summer was over and took 2 part eaten tubs of ice cream out of the freezer. Neapolitan - husband’s, and an orange and chocolate…mine! Left them out the freezer to get them to that slightly melted stage.. gave husband a spoon for his and took a spoon to mine… thought I had eaten more than I had.. so it was like half a box… couldn't check the nutrition info, as it was on the bottom of the box… so when I had finished… it was scrummy!… checked the nutrition and realised I had just eaten about 60 grams of carbs! Dosed the insulin and somehow kept in the green zone on the CGM….
Hope the ice cream story hasn’t made you crave ice cream.
Best wishes
I haven't yet, I think it was easier yesterday because I knew it was Bank Holiday so they likely wouldn't answer. Today they will and I'm a little nervous. And now the bank holiday is over @philly1991 , have you found the courage today to call them again?
If not yet, here's your friendly nudge.
sorry to hear your coming down with something, illness of any description can indeed effect levels. what effect on glucose levels does your correctional dose usually have? originally advice i had on correctional dose changed... used to be told oh just a unit less or more, depending in glucose level at next meal, later on it became a little more specific was told that 1 unit usually would reduce glucose by X. if i was in high teens could then just do correctional dose and to just keep eye on levels for its peak active time. If you haven't been given further advise can ask your DSN to perhaps explain correctional doses in a little more detail? i had a different target glucose level daytime and night, originally had same standard range all day long.BG 11.1 before bed and corrected. Had a steady night but woke at 11am, it was 12.2. I did wake with a headache and very congested, think I might be coming down with something. Could explain why BG didn't respond much to correction?
No breakfast because I woke late, just had a fairly carb heavy meal so we shall see what happens with that.
I was 1 unit to reduce by 3 but recently my DSN suggested 1 unit to reduce by 2. This doesn't always seem to work (I say always, since Saturday) but when we get a good idea of where I'm at obviously can make changes. I see her again 17th September so hopefully I've made some good progress and have a few weeks of readings to show her and we can go from there. We haven't gone much into targets, I think she's cautious of overwhelming me right now. I also haven't looked into targets myself because I'm focusing on carb counting and taking my doses which right now is huge for me and I'm also worried about becoming overwhelmed.sorry to hear your coming down with something, illness of any description can indeed effect levels. what effect on glucose levels does your correctional dose usually have? originally advice i had on correctional dose changed... used to be told oh just a unit less or more, depending in glucose level at next meal, later on it became a little more specific was told that 1 unit usually would reduce glucose by X. if i was in high teens could then just do correctional dose and to just keep eye on levels for its peak active time. Update, I didn't make the phone call but I have just this minute completed the online self referral form. Apparently I will be contacted within 7 working days, takes the pressure off me making the call myself.Theres nothing wrong with asking for help when needed imo the hardest part is admitting that could do with assistance in the first instance which you've already done
No need to be nervous, both phycologists and psychiatrists will be used to hearing all sorts of issues, pretty sure they'll of helped others in simular positions. You wont be the onle one. I realise its easier said than done to not be anxious about something.
If you find it easier to put in writing, rather than calling via the phone pretty certain that would work too. Since you have the telephone numebr already presume you have the address you could write to or maybe even email? If not could google their phone number to get the address or simply look up the company name info to obtain?
Anyway how did breakfast go this morning and over night sugar levels?
(edit added below)
ps glad dsn is happy with progress madehopeful your thirlled too with it

Didn't find the courage to make the call to mental health team today unfortunately.
