I would love a chat and share stories and tips on diabetes i really struggle with it as i have fits when i hypo, i try to keep my sugar levels up all the time which i know is very dangerous!

Hi Carley and welcome to the forum. Some T1 members will be along soon to give you their tips.

Hi Carley welcome to the forum. I am t2 so cant be much help, but I notice you are posting at 1:39 from the UK. Do you have difficulty sleeping too?

Hi and welcome. I'm not a long-term T1 but a more recent LADA. Can you tell us more about your insulin regime, diet and perhaps weight and anything else that might help

i am on DAFNE injections but i hav not been on the course yet even though i have been on the injections well over a year, i eat healthy, exercise & im always busy at work. i was a little overweight but i have recently lost a lot of weight. Hypos really scare me as i have had a few fits at work & home

Welcome,

I too done DAFNE unofficially for a year before actually attending the course.....

Hypos usually mean too much insulin or extra activity......

Do you find you hypo after rushing about......?....when do they occur.....?

have you been shown how to test your background insulin....

I hypo through the night but i think it is because i work late & have a slow acting insulin at 10pm which brings my sugar down through the night.

i got put on DAfNE injections to stop hypos all i got told to do was take 12 units of inslutard (dont know if thats how u spell it) twice a day at 9am & 10pm and take novorapid when i eat which is 6 units with breakfast, 2 with lunch & 8 with tea. i cant steady my levels they r either low or far to high. its only been the past 2 year my sugar levels r up & down all the time

Hey , I'm also new to this forum site .
I'm 22 and have had type 1 diabetes since I was 7 .

I'm very lucky I have never had a fit when I have had a hypo , must be so scary .
Have you started the DAFNE yet ? As read the posts above . And received any help ?
Hopefully you have .
All the best
Cloe :)

i do the Dafne injections but i havnt had the training so i just guess how much novorapid to take. fits r horrible but i havnt had 1 for over a year so im pleased xx

Oh right I get it now , do you know if you will be sent for the training , as hopefully that would help you carb count , and then maybe would stop the highs and lows . Must be tricky trying to guess all the time :(
That's such good news that you haven't had a fit in over year , fingers crossed it stays that way for you .
do you know what your current hba1c is .
