Ally
Have you been testing since you came home with more meds?

thank you all for thinking of me
donnellysdogs, my BS levels are slowly coming down

Hi Ally - glad you are feeling a little better. Do you know what triggered the huge rise and did the hospital do any tests?

Ally

Are you following the advice to cut the carbs that so many people on here are saying.

My concern too would be that your body is not handling the meds and your selection of food.. Are you eating less carbs?

I did not know if I can ask them to give me a printout of my reports, I asked once long time ago and they asked me for 5 pounds for it. Everything was fine then so i did not bother and left.

Charging for printed reports is outrageous and has been discussed on here before. It's your information from tests on your body. Check to see if it's specifically on the surgery schedule of charges. If it is, feel free to moan to the practice manager and ask reception to read them out from the screen so you can write them down. That might be sufficiently inconvenient for them that they'll print them anyway.

I think hospital blood test results are more difficult to get as generally they are kept with your files (which I have been told off for teading through lst time I was taken in!!)

Practices should print blood tests off free of charge for the patients, however hospitals I believe keep them on your files in which case you would have to apply for access to them which hospitals can charge for.

But surely the same rules must apply? It is still your blood, isn't it?

Test results from hospitals are still on your hospital computer records (in addition to your paper files), so print outs must also be possible. Also, many hospital computer systems are linked to those at the GP practice, or at least ours are. My GP can see my hospital results on her screen, and my consultant can see my GP's results on his screen. My hospital will also send me a copy of all test results through the post, but I have to ask for them. It isn't automatic.

Gp's won't mind printing off results as they are still long term wise consulting now about the online availability of these results to patients.

I will find out if this is possible to request print outs of blood results from hospital from our health authority when I next meet up with people that can answer these questions for definite.

Hope you're ok Alli ! Take care!
