How many blood glucose meters do you have?

And how many do you use?

This was inspired by another thread where Mr TITD said he had 8 or so. :wideyed:

I'll start:
I just threw out 2 Freestyle Lite meters because the strips were proving too expensive (I'm type 2 and buy my own).
Now I have 3 (yes 3!!!) Codefree meters (£12 ea). One beside bed. One beside armchair. One in desk drawer at work.
I should have one in handbag too.

Why 3? Because if I just had one, I would leave it at work. Or at home. Or upstairs. And I would never have it nearby, so I would never test, and then I would cheat and eat too many carbs because I wouldn't see the consequences...
Fallibility is my middle name ;)!

I have 3 Glucomen LX but only use 1. Not sure why I even have 3 to be honest :-)

...I have two, Optium Xceed and Codefree...bought the Codefree because there was too much variance in the Xceed, also the strips were so expensive..

I have 2. The old one is broken, but I keep thinking that maybe I can fix it....so I won't throw it out!

Just looked its 9 actually but I may have lost one.
4 ebsensors
2 codefree
1 accucheck compact plus.
1contour xt
1 contour next
I'm sure there is another but cant find it.

Not in the same league as TITD but not far off, I've got 6!

I bought 2, my iBGStar and my SD Codefree, all the others have been freebies

p.s. It's a really good job I checked my spelling before posting, I'd spelt TITD wrong, I'll leave it to your imagination........

OMG!
To answer this honestly, I will need to visit the diabetic equipment graveyard ! I never, ever seem to be able to throw stuff out, so I may have some museum pieces in there !

Does the jar of leeches that go manic when bloods are high count ??

Definitely! Although... *horrible mental image* how long is it since those leeches last saw daylight? Have they turned into undead leaches:eek:?

I was about to add the caption

"Signy checks the cupboard under the stairs for the meter stash "

But was nagged to check my BG's. Apparently , I was "Cackling in a disturbing way "

Everyone who uses Codefree...the strips are £5 a carton of 50 if you buy five instead of £6.99 each on the Homehealth website, free p&p ~ use the promo code 264086. Promo code for ten cartons is 975833, but don't know how much each carton works out at as haven't bought ten at once, but I'm sure some will....:D

I feel guilty now ! Can I send you one of mine lol :)
