How many carbs per day/per meal do you have?

under 75g most days , a lot under 50g. I have around 10g at breakfast, something similar if I eat lunch, around 20-25g, sometimes a shade more depending on veg options for main meals and then between 10 and 15g for dark chocolate and lactofree milk during day.

80 -120g a day for me, 20 - 30g each for breakfast and lunch, and 30 - 50g for tea.

I have noticed is that as far as pasta goes, Taggliatelle I am fine with but Penne pasta sends me high, the current theory is that there is something in the sauce to thicken it more for Penne and that is what sends me high not the actual pasta.

Hi Ruth, tagliatelle have egg in so take longer to digest whereas penne are all flour and water

When I began my journey 14 weeks ago I set a 50g per day limit/target, never really went up to that, mostly around 30g, lately not even that! Good to know that I could go to it if I desired though!

I was on 20 to 30 a day for six weeks. Recently I've been getting a bit lightheaded and I'm not sure why. I'm definately eating enough so upping mine to 35 40 g and see if that makes a difference

maybe a bit more salt? if the Forxiga is making you pee more, you will be excreting it more, I'd think.

Definitely try upping the salt before you up the carbs.

Have a look at @jack412 's video link on this thread. It's excellent.
The guy in the video has been studying ketosis and low carb for 20 years, works with ketogenic athletes, and has been eating VLC for 10 years.

Oh bless you both. Yes of course its electrolytes isn't it? Peeing on the new drug....potassium too I bet. Thankyou!

:D
You wait til the summer.

Wots that drink where you lick salt first? Tequila. Or is that worms?
And there's another where you dip the glass rim in salt. Marguerita, is it?

Anyway. Very important to keep up fluids,
And salt.
And alcohol.

;)

or make sweet potato chips. A little harder than normal chips as they are wetter than potato

Amazing. Half an hour after a chunck of salty cheddar with extra salt I'm feeling much better. Thanks you guys. ( and here's me a nurse). I should be ashamed. Lol

I think subconsciously the mind is always sneakily trying to get us back onto the carbs - it's always the first solution that springs to mind! And we've been beaten round the head for so long about salt that we never think we might be short- given we are likely to be eating very little processed rubbish on LC diet, we may well need to keep tabs on it more than the average person.

I am definitely finding that it is not only the amount of carbs but the type that effects me as well. I still have some ready meals but always make sure that they have less than 50g carbs per pack, the odd one I have noticed is that as far as pasta goes, Taggliatelle I am fine with but Penne pasta sends me high, the current theory is that there is something in the sauce to thicken it more for Penne and that is what sends me high not the actual pasta.
I was under the impression all pasta was the same, just different shapes.
