The term "big boned" lol repeatedly told this growing up!
Just wondering how many avocados are okay to have per week/day? At the moment I am having one mashed with egg or as a side with fish in the mornings (when I feel hungry). I find I can work out and not feel hungry for hours after to the point I worry as I haven't felt hungry! Anyone know what's an acceptable amount as DN nearly keeled over when I said I eat about one a day- but I like them :D

What were her reasons for objecting? If you enjoy them & they help you meet your goals in terms of satiety and blood glucose control I can’t see a downside.

Think she said there was too much fat! I thought they were good fats perhaps she needs re educating

I think if you are meeting all your macros and you feel good eating them. Go ahead. I eat small ones about 4 times a week. Lucky for me haven't seen DN yet! I certainly would not listen to them. Avocados are very good in good fats. Best of luck.

I eat a lot - about 4 large ones a week, I have them as guacamole on low carb toast, I use them in salads and mashed up with a bit of mayo to dress my veg etc (I limit my dairy as I gain weight with dairy) they are full of good nutrition and healthy fats, if your happy with what you’re doing then carry on doing it. They make a great base for chocolate mousse too!

I eat them whenever I can. Normally two a week as I only go shopping once a week, but I'd eat one a day if I could. As a surprise bonus, my skin looks great from, I assume, the oils.

As for your DN - what the others have said.

No "perhaps" about it..
I did really bite my tongue in order not to say it!!! As I have been known to blurt the odd comment thinking out aloud and got some funny, rather disgusting looks! Not a great thing but I have put it down to high sugars in the past!! Bit of a bad trait I am afraid and probably also due to being bullied for years by family.

I have given up being polite.. I was recently hounded out of my local surgery PPG for having unacceptable views that the surgery wasn't all that great at treating their T2 patients. Criticism was not going to be allowed.

I used to eat one a day until Chronic Kidney Disease dictated avoid Potassium. Fat wasn't an issue.
Our Head of Sport used to use them instead of butter. There are many occasions when a so-called authority
spouts information causing the recipient to feel pity at best! Utter bovine ordure!!

Hi @Lainie71 .

Gave a win for the occasional lack of control.

Might not of agreed previously if I'm honest.

Just got to a state of mind, that just said ”i’m just beyond saying I'm OK, when I'm not ”..which can seem rude, but when we're being patronised or spoken over by ’Professionals’ whose expertise, is either outdated, based on a short course or just repetion of dogma, to get us out and the next one in.

Then I'm not sorry I'm sorry.
I'm offended.

If I've rowed the Atlantic and you've never been to sea, don't come at me with an opinion unless it's well researched and moved beyond the days of sail & alarm over the Spanish armada.

And as for how many....no idea.

We have one or two a week shared , other half loves it. With a sprinkling of lemon juice, mashed into a boiled egg, and a little toast.

Very tasty, very filling.

I'm afraid that my avocados now come diced and frozen in packs and as avocado oil and mayonnaise rather than as originally in their natural state. I can eat how much I fancy when I fancy without worrying about their ripeness, and all versions feature regularly in various salads, etc. I haven't made the following recipe for a while but it's been a firm favourite as a small meal in itself:
Avocado warmed slightly and chopped up with fried or grilled bacon, any bacon fat from the pan, a few pine nuts, and salt & pepper . You can brown the pine nut slightly in the bacon fat or add them as is.

How do you make the mousse?
