In view of what has been said about fat in the newspaper and on TV today how much saturated fat would you eat in a day
We know that low carb and higher fat lowers BG but do we ever wonder if a long term high fat diet is good or bad for the rest of our body and organs
My consumption of saturated fat is quite low in a day I have eggs and cheese but not every day a little butter on vegetables and sometimes some cream on my fruit but I never eat red meat
I am quite suprised actually that quite a lot here do not do the really high fat with some avoiding fat on meat and not having very much cream butter cheese or full fat milk some people can't eat or simply don't like full fat stuff
I have heard it said on the forum by the purists that you can't do low carb without doing high fat but moderate fat is what many seem to do. If your BG levels are what you want and you feel well however you do it is the right way
Quite.......or else you could lose too much weight and end up worrying about that constantly......if you normal protein and low carb ....and want to maintain your current weight, you have to replace the carb energy with fat..
there is no other way of doing it
You can ask!Do you know if they ship to Sweden?
I think we are getting confused again with terminology. Many here eat a moderate amount of food but with a full fat content. Nobody is suggesting anybody eat "really high fat" that you mention. Also, if I choose to eat high fat, it doesn't mean vast amounts, it just means I don't eat "low fat" products. Of course, tastes will vary and we are all guided by BG levels but there is no need to avoid any food with a high fat content. It's the carbs that raise our BG numbers.I am quite suprised actually that quite a lot here do not do the really high fat with some avoiding fat on meat and not having very much cream butter cheese or full fat milk some people can't eat or simply don't like full fat stuff

Annie these 2 posts of yours seem to contradict each other. In the first one you ask how much fat we eat 'in view of what has been said on TV today" You ask if high fat is good for us long term. I took this to mean would we be changing anything now we've heard the news?
Then you seem to be trying to justify your own level of fat consumption by saying, "Oh others don't do high fat here! Eat so that you feel well" Have you considered the long term effects of not eating high fat? You have always been insistent that you already do what is right for you, so I don't really understand what the thread is meant to achieve. If you are having the correct diet for you (and I believe you are) why does it matter that others do or don't do high fat?

i really dont get what this topic is about annie,,you eat your own way for u and your sugars are good so why u bothered about how much fat others eat if you already eat the fats that you say are right for you and wouldnt change that and the amount others eat is right for them? you saying we have to eat like you or its no gud?
Because of what was said today I asked the simple question as to how much fat members eat as a matter of interest to others especially newbies who hearing todays news probably don't really know what a good level of fat is so seeing examples of what others eat can be a help to them to decide and most people answered this by saying what they eat The question about the long term effects are something i am sure we may have wondered about simply because it is as yet unknown but it did not mean were people going to change anything .I did not actually say... Oh others don't do high fat here...I said I was suprised that quite a lot only do moderate fat I had expected more doing high fat but whatever people are happy doing can only be good and shows us how differently people tweak it to suit them
I certainly don't have to justify what fat I eat but by saying how I eat was just the same as the others said they did in their answers the question

Hi Annie. My view is that you shouldn't to worry too much about the amount of fat you eat. We have to keep an eye on the carbs but as fat has little effect on blood sugar, common sense dictates for me anyway the amount of fat I eat. There is certainly no need to have a high fat diet which is why I hate the LCHF accronym but having proteins and fat to balance the low carbs is for me the sensible way forward. I see no need to advise newbies on how much fat to have?It wasn't about me it was so people especially newbies could have a guide as to what level of fats others eat if they are not sure about it and that could help them
Simon, if you look Annie has posted this thread in the Ask a Question section of the forum which is relevant to what she is asking, we often get these sort of threads where members may ask each other how many carbs everyone is eating or what their days meals have consisted of for example, no one is forced to reply if they don't want to and can skip by the thread if they don't want to participate, also I don't see where Annie says that we have to eat the same way that she does.
