How often should I have blood tests?

I called my GP recently as my last blood test was done in August last year and the reception said the last test was good and I don't need another test or see the nurse untill Aug/Sept this year.

My understanding is that for T2 should have a blood test every 6 months once the BS is stable, so should I contact the GP again about this?

My tests are every year, by agreement with the DN and at my suggestion. I've been stable (within a range of 4 mmol/mol) into a fifth year now, and I really don't want tests any more frequently.

I guess if you want tests more often, then you need to ask for them and have a few good reasons lined up.

I have mine done twice a year and that’s what NICE recommends for type 2s.
They say “Measure HbA1c levels at 3–6 monthly intervals until the HbA1c is stable on unchanging treatment, then at 6-monthly intervals”
Here’s the link to the NICE website:

Many thanks, I don't mind to do blood test twice or once a year but just like to see if it is okay to do so.

Also, the reason for test is to see if I am I am doing things right or need to improve. I know my body and BG level are much better now than I was diagnosed 18 months ago. Morning BG usually between 5 to 6 and 2 hours after eating usually between 6 to 8.
