I've never feel full.... even though I may have packed away some size of fish curry on a Thursday night.
To really "know" hunger would, I suppose, entail doing something like the Newcastle Diet or doing some extreme fasting?
I wonder how that would pan out for a diabetic. Seems too fast for digestion causing higher bs?Personally I didn't feel that hungry while cutting my calorie intake to around 800 calories. That is partially down to drinking a lot of water and also trying very hard not to think about food all the time. I should mention that by removing sources of protein from my diet you can eat a lot of vegetables for 800 calories, so that's probably got a lot to do with it.
I've recently watched Fat, Sick and nearly dead, a film about an Australian, Joe Cross (I think) who, at 40 and 300 lbs went on a Juice diet for 60 days, so a lot of veg, but juiced. A film crew followed his journey, a journey in 2 ways because he travelled round the U.S. talking to people about weight, diet etc. I don't remember him mentioning hunger, but then 60 days on a juice diet would be next to impossible if he was hungry all the time. I'll have to read his book.

I seem to remember that he had been diagnosed as pre-diabetic, but would need to check it out. He certainly has something to say about juicing for diabetics.

I'm probably being thick. Are you saying that fast digestion (shorter intestinal transit times?) can cause higher BG? I'm not advocating the 60 day reboot, although tempted because I know how effective just eating vegetables was on my BG. Roast or Juiced, who knows? I did note that Joe Cross does suggest more veg and less fruit.
I require gustatory appeasement, facilitated by masticated victuals passing into one's upper abdomen? So if the word "hungry" is no longer PC then what do we say when we would like some food?

Rather than "hungry", I think the word that is more misused is "starving". It should mean that you are in danger of dying not that you have just come home from school and fancy a bag of crisps.I think the word is fine!!!! I could have phrased it better by saying the word has two rather different meanings.....
I’m peckish?! Doesn’t sound so urgent! So if the word "hungry" is no longer PC then what do we say when we would like some food?
