I know this may be a silly question but how do I deal with a hypo??? Until recently I have never had low blood readings but since starting low carb my bloods are getting lower ... I appreciate any advice

Are you on insulin @lindiloo62 ?

The best way to deal with a hypo is to have 1-3 glucose tablets or some Lucozade or regular Coke. That should make you feel better very quickly.

Depending on your meds, you may also need 10 to 20g longer acting carbs eg a digestive biscuit (approx 10g carbs).

If you're having a lot of hypos, your meds might need adjusting, so speak to your DSN or doctor for advice.

Can you tell us if you are on any meds?

If you have any readings, can you tell us, when and how long after eating?

How low do you consider low?

Sorry for the questions, but more information is easier to see if we can help.

The suggestions by @azure all are fine for treating a hypo, however if your going hypo with low-carbing then you need to make adjustments to your insulin.
