Hi folks
I am Karen (chocfish) husband, diagnosed with type 2 diabetes :-(
I have had symptoms for a number of weeks, and Karen nagged non-stop to let her near enough murder me with one of those size 10 knitting needle things to test I steadfastly refused thinking that if I ignore the situation it would just quietly go away again.
These things don't go away though do they? After yet another miserable night she looked daggers at me, the giant needle looked slightly less scary (yep you don't know that side of her) the result was a fasting bg of 18.3.
I had a GP appointment this afternoon, GTT and a whole host of other tests to follow; I know I have had years of learning from Karen, but somehow this is different for me, I find it very difficult to accept. Dare I say it, I am scared, I am even scared of changing my diet, of reducing carbohydrates.
i am hoping that where diabetes is concerned members will accept me as an individual, not as Karen's/chocfish's husband.
Thank you in advance
John
