Hi to all,

My A1c came back at 49 mmol this time because I've cut out carbs & been riding my bike only 11 more points to go before I am not diabetic anymore so my A1c came back at 6.9 and I don't have to test my blood sugar anymore.

I am really pleased.

Wow congratulations- that’s brilliant!

Good work, but even though 'they' say you don't need to test any more, if it was me I would as I find it helps me stay on the straight and narrow. I find it too easy to deny that a carby food won't affect me if I'm not seeing the resuts on my meter.
Maybe just test less ?

Hi to all,

I meant it came back @t 59mmol not 49 mmol will be even more pleased when it comes back @t 48
Typo mistake.

(Thanks, that was confusing me. :) Though 59mmol/mol is 7.5% ....)

Can I ask what meds you are on now? I believe you were on lantus back in March??? Have you managed to come of the insulin now?

It does sound like the bike and the cutting carbs is working well for you.

Hi there

Yes I am only on empagaflozin & if I run out I am taking pioglitzone 15mg until I receive empagaflozin again but I am going numerous times to the loo I am having an indwelling catheter fitted next week so it s easier to use.

As I cannot wee on my own since I had my son in 1985

That's awesome that you have managed to come off insulin. Hopefully the indwelling catheter makes life easier for you.

Hi EllieM

Hi to all

My A1C last time was 69.00 but I am really pleased it's down more.
I have just been on 2 bike rides might go on another after I've had stirfy for dinner.
I have also had my indwelling catheter put it so I am getting used to it.
Not going to loo as much now lol.

I really hope it is making life easier for and thank you for your inspiring post. I have my bld test end of September & it’s great to have a reminder to keep on the straight & narrow.

Well done! This just goes to show that with some dedication, most things are possible
