Hello @webaddict Sorry to hear of your situation.

The starting point is to write a letter of complaint to the practice manager at your local doctor's surgery, explain that you are dependent on insulin and are not getting the support or tools you need to manage your condition and as you have done above outline the care received since diagnosis, try not to become too emotional in the content just clearly explain that you are concerned that as a type 1 diabetic and dependent on insulin that your life depends on the care you receive, you can either write the letter or ask to see them however as we can be quite emotional about such matters a letter may be best - mark it as urgent and for the attention of: The Practice Manager.

I would also pay a visit to your hospital too - see if you can contact the Endocrinology dept and ask for an apt there - they have specialist consultants for type 1's and tell them you need support with care as well as tools for glucose management, they will have spare equipment they can give you.

Hopefully this will improve quickly for you - please let us know how you get on.

hi @webaddict

You have had and still having a rough ride and @Juicyj is correct about your surgery.

I am extremely lucky to have a surgery that is fantastic and i get all the care i need.

Never under estimate the power of the doctors receptionist though as their knowledge is often more useful than the doctors.
Give them a try and see if they can help as its worth a try.

I wish you well

Tony
