I have been T2 for approx 7 years and also have other health matters like a very active immune system which causes multi-problems. I am having treatment for this to calm the immune system down but now so active it is running crazy.
My auto-immune system running crazy at the moment and it has just killed off my pancreas hence the move from T2 to T1.
An urgent appt with a diabetic specialist is being sought as I have to move to insulin support and knock all the tablets on the head.
My HbA1c was 117 such a shock to me as I have always worked so hard to control glucose. No matter, must now deal with what is and not what was.
Is there anything of which I should be aware until BG settles down ?
Many thanks, Alan.

Not a great deal o difference really Alan. Try to keep your carb intake lowish and exercise if you can. Good luck with the insulin. It's a scary thought but is not that difficult once you get your head round it. Good luck !

Thx Mo.
I'm sure all, will be OK! Just some changes to incorporate into daily life.

Hi. You sound like a LADA; Late onset T1. I'm a sort of Slow onset T1! I moved from all the tablets to insulin 8 months ago. Don't panic as it is nowhere near as problematic as you may fear. The injections are virtually painless. I have very fine 4mm needle pens. If they put you onto the Basal/Bolus regime i.e. both daily and rapid insulin for meals you should have total blood sugar control. Even just the daily insulin is a transformation. As other posters have said just keep the carbs very low until you get the medication sorted and even after keep the carbs down so you don't put on weight.
