I thought perhaps I should say Hi again

Thought I better say hi again as I haven't been on the forum for a very long while...

Where have I've been for the past 12 months...

I've been on a life changing exercise...

I decided to return to work, initially I looked for part-time work and a career change, but ended up going back full-time and back to my old career working in a specialist dementia care unit...

Other endeavors of the year, finally starting the re-landscaping of my back garden, creating a chill out area on my patio, with huddles of plants, hanging baskets and tubs... the addition of a greenhouse, and finally acquiring a allotment as creating a veg plot in the garden, not only takes up valuable space that my two dogs needs, but they would quite happily start helping themselves to any veg being grown... Then there's been the house decorating etc..

So I've had a very busy year one way and the other, but a very good year...

But hopefully I will be about more on the forum once again.

Welcome back Jopar :)

Pleased you've had a great year and decided to return to work, look forward to seeing you around more.

Hi,Jopar :)
Welcome to your return, My wife and daughter and are in the process of acquiring an allotment round about 19th January. So I best get prepared to get my boots on. Might need some tips later.

Hi jopar .

Nice to hear from you and have you back amongst us .
Remember your dancing cheeky penguin avatar !

You have been busy with your work/job and home/life style .

Missed you and a warm welcome back :)

Great to read you're back Jopar! And been busy by the sounds of it too!!

Are you overwintering any plants in your greenhouse? Mines full up with annuals and perennials for an early start next year. No heat. Going to put my cucumber seeds in this week to start them off. I always do it before Alan Titchmarsh or Monty Don!!

Lovely to see you back again...

Thanks for the Welcome back

Shall have to do a google search see if I can get my dancing penquin back,,,

@donnellydogs

I've got a couple of Palms, Cordlyns (sp), fushia's and I've put back several tubs and my hanging baskets see what survives the winter...

My lady Bloomsbury which is outside, is still in flower well until last nights -6 that we had:(

Still finalising what seeds I'm going to plant up, still decided whether for some of my plants both garden and veg, which I'm starting from seed and which I shall buy plugs....

Not got any heating in the greenhouse this year undecided whether to go for an portable gas heater or whether to put in electric's still got to get an electrician in to quote, the new regulations means that cables have to be suitably buried, and you can't run them along the fence/wall any more...

I don't officially take over my allotment until Thursday, so going out tomorrow to have a little check, see if the chap who I'm taking over from has remove all his veg, there was still quite a bit at the beginning of the month we I viewed the plot..

This might work as an avatar as it won't get scaled up (96 pixels square seems to be the default size) but your sig avatar is working

YAY !!!! My fave avatar is back doing his funky cheeky boppy wiggle !!!
Never fails to make me

Welcome back Jopar and your cheeky dancing penguin :joyful::D
Hope you are keeping him .

Hi Jopar and welcome back!
Cute aspirational and energising penguin!
I did garlic again, put in 2 rows of cloves at start of November. Our cat,Tabs, doesn't dig them up, just looks at them. They're doing fine, standing a foot tall now, and they've benefited from several cold snaps, like yesterday for example, -2 here and dark and gruesome all day.
We're steadily eating last year's garlic which is hanging in the garage.
Happy New Allotment! :)
