As for the spelling – well if we want to be pedantic, Dietician actually is taken from the French diet....meaning regime and ician or icien..... meaning a person involved in a subject or activity.
For example an Optician etc. This was noted in 1846 in the Oxford English Dictionary. It is correct that both versions are in common usage in the UK and around the World. However it seems that Professional’s here seem to favour the ‘t’ version.

Anyway, you should see plenty of examples of Dieticien, Opticien etc signs where you're off too.....think of me every time you see one.... :wink:
