In pain

I haven't taen my insulin in such a long time. My kidneys started to hurt yesterday - today they're agony, I have chest pains and I feel so sick. I tried to get a doctors appointment this morning but with no success. Anyone have any tips? I'm stuck in work just about crying with pain. TIA, Cait
Dear Caity - As the others have said this is potentially very serious. Please ring for an ambulance. Rapidly escalating kidney pain is EXACTLY how my first experience of DKA started. I was admitted as soon as I was evaluated in A&E and it took 24 hours of saline/insulin drip to get my BG levels back to acceptable levels. Please stay safe and act now!

High on most meters means in excess of 33 which is very bad!

As has been said, PLEASE get yourself to hospital as you are I think you are more ill than you realise.

All the best.

I hope you post again, we promise to be more gentle for normal stuff. our posts on potential DKA stuff is full on and can seem over the top

I hope you managed to get to A&E or some other medical assistance. We are thinking of you and hope you are being looked after . Please could you let us know how things went? Take good care now, with my very best wishes.

Like other, sending you best wishes and really really hope you decided to get medical help. Work is important but work will not be possible at all if you end up in hospital for a long stay. Please get help.

If you lose your health

You will not be able to go to work anymore

Set your priorities right

Sorry for being too direct :cat:
