I feel it is only fair my friend that I tell you YOU were / are one of the folk I refer to. You are such an inspiration to many of us.

I have just seen all the responses since last night.... and, being firstly a man, secondly a Black Belt, thirdly a hard ********. forth strong willed, and self opinionated. Finding myself in tears at seeing so many names that I look to for guidance and support. And gladly a few as of yet I don't know.

What a great family network we have here, to carry us when we fail and fall and place us back on our feet.

Thank you all

Paul

You know Tophat without this place and people like you and the others here I would still be in the dark and have numbers in the mid 20s and a bedside cabinet cluttered with drugs.

It's a great resource isn't it?

Don't forget to give yourself a big pat on the back. You are a winner in my eyes, you've done something the medial profession regards are near impossible. It's a liberating feeling to take charge and see the benefits of your own hard work right in front of you each morning. I know you'll keep up the good work!

A detailed story from beginning to current achievement will be inspiration to many. Kindly do pen down the same. Or share the link if already done.

Cheers :)

Hello Johny! (visions in my head of a smashed door with a menacing face ;)
I feel you are right my friend, it may be useful to document.

So last Monday afternoon, I had an appointment with a diabetic nurse at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Being a dietitian, she talked at length about… yes, you guessed it diet and food.

What she did not talk about, was my diet, and what food I was eating!

On her screen see could see all my test results for this year. Every blood test and every reading down to a large download from my TEE 2+ that ran in to quite a large number of self-testing over the first part of the year (Being at that time on insulin, I was testing every 2 hrs during my working day) … Up to when I was discharged by my specialist as a direct result of those numbers.

Like the specialist The DN was also
not interested in ‘HOW’ I achieved, in the words of the specialist… “Such fantastic results in such a short time-span”

Strange but true. Or maybe not!

I should be eating rice, bread, potatoes, pasta, porridge, grains, pulses, low fat cheese, and yogurt she explained.
The DN spend most of our time explaining why these foods are good for people with Type 2, and the need to consume them.

So: This is what she has been taught, and this is what she still advocates!

HOWEVER

After a while she payed more attention to what I told her about what I do eat and what I don’t eat… and why!

She almost switched off from her role as a DN and enthused greatly about the power and benefits of a LCHF lifestyle. (Which she was already completely aware of!)

She concluded by saying “Your results speak for themselves, you are in remission, and I am discharging you.

WOOP! WOOP!

I would like to say a huge thank you, to all of the posters and Mods here, for the help, guidance and encouragement that you have given, not just to me, to the ever growing numbers of us who have managed to put our life’s back on track and getting our T2 under control.

And in my case a life without drugs to do what I now understand, I can do for myself, far more efficiently and much faster without them.

When we understand and practice, with the proper diet, and knowledge found here so can many others!

Thank you all once again

Po

This is brilliant news. But my god must steer clear of that hospital!

I got admitted to hospital twice after eating rice!
