Anyone else have this where one day the response to a certian food is X, and next day it's Y.

Take this morning for me, woke up at 4.7

Breakfast, banana protein pancake, basically mashed bannana with eggs, seeds, berries fried in coconut oil as a grain free pancake :D

Around 30g carbs, so I took 2 units of novorapid, working on a usual I:C ratio of 1:15 at breakfast.

about 90 minutes later, I'm getting fuzzy headed and sweaty, so retest at 2.6

No idea what the hell is going on here, but Jelly babies came to the rescue.

Any clues, or just one of those things?

I get it also sometimes. There must be some reason but not sure if you are really able to find out what exactly caused it. Maybe its a hot weather, maybe you excercised the evening before, maybe stress or maybe you were doing sudoku after breakfast (I have just read in 'Think like a pancreas' that when you stimulate your brain it uses lots of energy)

With regards to BG readings, there are so many variables that can effect it, along with carb content. I would not take too much notice of any 1 "dodgy" reading. Better to look for patterns/trends etc. If it happens a few times, then you can act upon it.

Hia Dave, like you, this happens to me a lot. Looked for patterns over the years but there are none for me. So many variables seem to come in to play that I cross finges most times I bolus in the hope that the food I've eaten and the boius given will react the same as it did the previous night. So I'm sorry I have no advice but just to say it happens to me regularly. Waiting until 9 now to see what's happened tonight - watching the darts so that may have created some nervous energy!!!
