Increase Protein Intake

Hi @NewlyLADA,
If you read work on the insulin index you will see that some of the protein we eat gets changed by the liver into glucose.
So that applies to cheese, chicken and peanut butter. (which has carbs and protein).
So it is possible that for each Babybel cheese will produce about 2.5 g of carbs.
Just to give you the full picture as it is known at this time !!

You are referring to gluconeogenesis which is, I believe, demand driven.

WOW I AM REALLY WORRIED THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO INCREASE ANIMAL PROTEIN.. THERE IS A PROGRAM CALLED MASTERING DIABETES SUMMIT 2019 ON NOW THAT IS RUN BY 2 TYPE 1 DIABETICS FOR ALL TYPE OF DIABETICS AND WHO WENT DOWN THE ROUTE OF KETO AND FOUND THEY HAD NO ENERGY AND THEIR INSULIN RESISTANCE WENT UP AND THEY NEEDED MORE AND MORE DRUGS TO BRING THEIR BLOOD SUGARS DOWN.. THEY RESEARCHED INCLUDING ONE OF THEM GETTING THEIR PHD IN NUTRITIONAL SCIENCE AND SWITCHED TO A LOW FAT WHOLE PLANT FOOD DIET AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK. CHECK IT OUT!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEART!!
Please don't yell!

@wellperson, I think you need to use lower case print - it is much more restful on the eyes and much easier to read.
So please, would you mind doing so?
This summit you speak of is really about Big Food. The T2Ds I have seen on this are following a script written by Big Food from what I can discern. If you speak to people, T1Ds and T2Ds on properly managed LCHF diets and ketosis they are not short of energy or suffering from need for more medication!!
Nor are they likely to be sponsored to eat plant based stuff !!

Thank you I did know PB has carbs I did not know that about the babybel. I feel it works good for me now because I’m still in the honeymoon phase and it keeps me in range for a long period.

@kitedoc Many people eat a vegetarian or vegan diet for ethical, cultural, religious or availability reasons and I respect their reasons for doing so.
@bulkbiker Various cultures around the world have eaten vegetarian diets for hundreds and sometimes thousands of years and have demonstrated that animal protein is not an essential part of the human diet. Whether it is preferable to get amino acids from a range of different sources is another question.
However, once a metabolic problem like diabetes develops exploring dietary options in order to control the problem becomes imperative. As we are all metabolically variable I would not rule out rigorous testing of any diet including plant-based ones. I do wonder about any 'Summit' that draws in interested and possibly susceptible people and virtually immediately asks for money!
