Inflammation the cause of Type2?

My apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I found this this article interesting. it talks about the connection between diabetes and inflammation. Note the comment at the bottom by a nurse who had suffered a ruptured appendix and became diabetic as a result, but when she recovered her diabetes reversed. http://forecast.diabetes.org/magazine/your-ada/how-inflammation-affects-insulin-resistance

It is known that foods can have an inflammatory effect, and they can be given an Inflammation Factor - positive is good, negative is bad. These links give factors for various foods:
http://www.texasgrassfedbeef.com/gi_and_omega_3_nutritional_food_data.htm
http://inflammationfactor.com/look-up-if-ratings/ (note that you need to stop the download before it completes in order to see the whole list at once. if you don't you will only get a few items).

So, should we be eating a diet with a positive Inflammation factor? Would a caviar diet be better than a low carb diet?
Note that sugar and cereals are strongly negative (bad), but fruit and legumes are mainly fairly neutral, which would suggest that we should avoid cereal anyway, but not fruit, peas and beans.
