Hi,

I have been T1 diabetic for 15 years. I'm considering getting a pump to give me more control. I teach dance full time and perform in shows. Is there anyone who can recommend which pump would be best for me? I'm looking at the Omnipod as its wireless so won't get caught when I'm doing a lot of physical activity etc, any advise would be fantastic! Thanks

Hi @LorriJRobbi :)

I'll move your question to the Pump section so other pumpers see it :)

I think different pumps suit different people - it all depends what you want from it really, and how it 'feels' to you when you use the menu.

I'm goung to tag @noblehead for you as he has an Omnipod.

I have an Animas Vibe, which I love. It's very robust and can be used with the Dexcom CGM, but it does have tubing. I don't find that an issue at all, but everyone varies in what they like and dislike.

Hi @LorriJRobbi and welcome to the forum :)

As Azure says I'm a Omnipod Pump user, I like it because its a tubeless pump and having been on it for last 18 months I've had very few issues.

I'll provide a link to the Ypsomed (mylife) website that explains more about the pump and has some video's to view, but you should look at all the pumps that are on offer to you and weigh up the pro's & con's of each:

Hi @LorriJRobbi
welcome to the forum:)
I also have been using an omnipod for 10 months now
and overall have found it amazing.
as with any pump there is a fair amount of work involved ( extra testing and pump setting adjustments )

for me the pump has eliminated dawn phenomenon and keeps my blood sugars tighter ( less spike) following meals.

Hi LorriJRobbi

I tried an Omnipod for 3 months and found it very easy to use, I was already a pump user so easy to set up to meet my needs.

Two reasons I never stayed with it, first was my hospital who were trialling it decided not to move forwards and second was I wanted both remote and pump based controls and the Omnipod could only give me the remote.

I've been on the omnipod 3 days now and running high a lot as still adjusting the settings so cannot comment on that, but I did want to say how surprised I am that it's so incredibly comfortable. I already forget it's there most of the time. Also love the handheld device it's very simple and easy to use for a technophobe like me :-)
