Apologies if this has already been flagged up, though I can't find it anywhere
Horizon tonight is presented by Michael Mosley (of 5:2 diet fame) and is about whether or not red meat (and by extension, saturated fat) is good for you. The Daily Wail recently published an article by Mosley in which he appeared to be saying that, as a doctor, he had always been anti saturated fat but that he now believed that sugar was the real villain and that we could wade into butter, cream, red meat etc. with a degree of impunity. Being in the Mail, I suspect that there might have been a certain amount of, erm, editorial tweaking, to fit the slant that the paper wanted his article to take, but it was interesting and thought-provoking stuff. (That's not to say that I don't think sugar is villainous....)
The article by Mosley, flaghttp://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/bbc-2-tonight-at-9-00-pm-the-big-health-dilemma.63240/ging up the programme (here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-28797106) suggests that we may see a more balanced view tonight. Much though I'd love to be able to eat lots of saturated fat with a clear conscience, what I really want is a clear exposition of the facts, so far as they are known. In any event, I'll be watching with interest.
(Edit: Just found this: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/bbc-2-tonight-at-9-00-pm-the-big-health-dilemma.63240/ . Beaten to it; and probably in a more appropriate forum, as well. Never mind
