Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

- Are you religious? This is not a yes, no answer. I do believe in Karma, and treat people as I would like to be treated, I also believe all creatures have a right to life.

- Pick three words to describe your personality. All I will say here is that I have a good sense of humour.

- Do you have any pets? I have two cats, Tabitha who is two, and Boris who I think is about six months, who was an unwanted kitten, and he is lovely when he behaves which is not very often.

- Microsoft or Apple? Microsoft.

- Which sport(s) (if any) do you like/play? Not really the sports type, but I used to race Karts, and fly gliders, but don’t do either at the moment, to fat and heavy.

- Do you get angry easily? Only when someone annoys me. LOL

- Do you have any tattoos or piercings? If so, where? I nearly got a Bugs Bunny smoking a joint tattoo on my calf, but I sobered up before it was my turn, so no.

- List your five favourite musicians/bands. No real favourites, but I love jazz and early garage, also Hip-Hop, and New Jack Swing.

- What would you say your favourite music genre is? As above.

- What is your favourite flag? Chequered

- Ever gone camping? Yes a few times back in the hazy past of youth.

- Ever been in love? I loved a dog I had called Butch, we really understood each other.

- Ever used fake tan? I have enough problems with the real thing.

- Favourite city? Not really a city person.

Hi all. I'm Steve. T2 since 2013, but think I've been diabetic much longer. Still struggling today, my other health problems severely restrict my ability to exercise, so losing weight it a nightmare! This also adds to the already deep depression, which in turn makes me comfort eat, esp crisps! Starting to get some problems with my feet in recent weeks, right foot has a hot sensation, though I think this is more related to my other health issue (Long term back problems including scoliosis and sciatica)

I'll answer a number of the questions...

I am not religious in any shape or form, have read the Bible and made my mind up so I'm an Atheist.
I would describe myself as Witty, Quiet and Strange (in a good way)

Yes I get angry quite easily, though never used to. This is stress related.

Been in love twice, shame the 2 women couldn't say the same.

my name is Ron; I'm 75; I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 1988. For 25 years I ignored all the advice offered to me.
Then in 2013 I took part in a speciallised trial and it changed my life. before the trial I was 125 kilos and taking 60 units of insulin daily; 2 years later after completing the trial I was 98 kilos and had reduced my insulin intake to 8 units daily. All I needed to do was to change my attitude and life style. I am currently down to 95 kilos and my sugar level is a constant 6.
 
Hi am new am kaye from fife Scotland dignosed 2011 type 1 insulin dependent it sucks big time but hey how just have to get on with it. They think I have had diabetes longer but was never picked up. As you see am into tattoos in a big way and love motorbikes passed my bike test in 2002. So hi all keep strong
 
Hi Ruth. I've not been here long but wanted to say hi and found your story interesting for all the right reasons. I hav a GP appointment next week so I'm a bit nervous about that. Metformin doesn't seem to be tolerated very well. What's your take on it ?
