That hba1c is non-diabetic.Hi, my name is Peter
I am a middle aged male (54)
I live in the South West of UK with my wife and two teenagers (18/16) and a small patterdale terrier (Bailey)
I recently did a full set of bloods with monitormyhealth.org.uk a new NHS service.
Finger prick test in comfort of my own home. Although the kit sat on the shelf for 3 days and then I spent a few hours with the open kit looking at the needle devices that were going to deliver a small prick into my finger.
It all seemed like a good idea but when it came down to it I remembered how much I don't like needles.
I eventually plucked up the courage to press the small blue device and I have to say it wasn't my favourite experience, I can't explain why, I would be happier cutting my finger than firing a small needle into it.
Extracting the blood was easier. Popped it in the post and two days later I had my results delivered to my personal dashboard.
My total cholesterol 5.7 mmol/L (HDL 1.79 mmol/L - nonHDL 3.95 mmol/L)
Diabetes HbA1c - 38 mmol/mol
Thyroid (TSH 1.54 mu/L - FT4 16.2 pmol/L - FT3 4.6 pmol/L
Apparently I need to keep an eye on my Cholesterol, probably best to test on a Friday as I tend to binge more at the weekend.
Until the next time...
