Hi my name is Linda, I recently found out I have type 2 Diabetes and want to improve my eating habits and saw your Mediterranean diet plan and wanted to try it. Since finding out almost two months ago I’ve lost ten pounds but I know there’s more ways to dress up the food I’m eating and stay healthy. I was a coach for 10 to 12 year olds soccer, basketball and baseball for 8 years and got hurt on a river adventure and had back surgery and kind of went down hill after that. They fixed my back and leg so I could walk properly again. I’m kind of used to southern cooking and cutting out rice , potatoes and pasta hasn’t been easy. There has to be a way to dress up the chicken and fish like a real chef. Please help

Have you looked into alternatives like cauliflower rice, roast or pan fried radish instead of potato, zucchini for pasta ? Those are very common substitutes you should be able to find familiar recipes for.

This is obviously not me, he’s my dog Mr Smithers. He helps me exercise and is great for my mental health. We both live in South Wales with my partner. I am Type 2 on Novorapid, and Lantus plus a plethora of the usual tablets. I’m struggling at the moment with hypoglycaemia, particularly over night which is very debilitating. Apart from that life is mostly good as I have not long ago retired early.

Im 73 years young, recently seperated so live alone.

I have been a motor mechanic, qualified marine engineer sailing all over this lovely planet and finally manager of convenience stores around the north of england. I now volunteer for the Library, a charity shop and work at "Men in sheds Hull"

I love listening to Bob Dylan and anything from the 60s but Bob's new recordings are amazingly good.

Love reading, especially historical fiction of the Tudors.

Since living alone my cooking is getting better and I put that down to my pre-diabetic problems, along with selling my boat as its no fun doing stuff alone so I must be eating more. Mind you Im only 92kg lol.

I was told by the doctors I am close to Type 2 diabetes so hope this forum will help with that. Im not on any treatments from the doctor for Type 2 but on varioud heart meditation.

Hello and welcome from a fellow sailing Bob Dylan lover!
I've been sailing the Dutch waters on traditional flat bottomed sailing ships professionally for over 20 years, and I've been an avid listener to Bob Dylan since I was 14.

When I was 17 (mid 90s) I even followed a European tour for ten concerts, hitchhiking and sleeping in parks because I could just about pay for the concerts, but nothing more.

Still thankful my mum let me do this crazy stuff!
