Hi. My name is James and I am 61. I was diagnosed T2 diabetic while in hospital for appendicitis. I am from a quaint little town called Corsham (10 miles outside of Bath) and I now live just outside of Portsmouth.
I am happily married to Dawn and we have been together now for some 23 years.
I’m not religious, but believe in good and evil. Someone once described me with an old Garfield caption, “I eat big, drink big and laugh big”, which summed me up very well. Unfortunately now, I don’t eat or drink as big, but I still manage to laugh a lot.
I have a Great Dane by the name of Oliver, who is nearly 4 and is close to the point of growing-up!!
I used to play rugby until I was injured and then took up water polo. I now have to get back into cycling, which I haven’t done for a few years.
Favourite music is Led Zeppelin, Eurhythmics, Thin Lizzie, Whitesnake and Barbra Streisand and many more.
I sold my boat last year so I am looking for a smaller version at the moment and we go out caravanning most months outside of winter.
I was in the Royal Navy for 27 years and loved every minute, left in 1996 and started lecturing electrics and electronics at Southampton and now Portsmouth.
I love Cornwall and Dorset and 2 of my favourite countries are Tunisia and Lebanon. The city I would like to visit is Rio.
I have a son Adam and a daughter Andrea, both were diabetic before me. My mother was diabetic.

I'm a primary school teacher from South Wales.
I am 44 years young!
Was diagnosed with type 1 when I was 11.
Have been on insulin injections all that time.
Have been quite fit, but had a series of bad hypos in nov dec last year due to catching chicken pox in school. Since then my blood sugars have been all over the place and difficult to keep level. Am seeing my diabetic team on 5feb to change to lantus insulin as well as discuss possible pumps......
Bit worried about pumps and what they will offer due to pipes and my job with young children!
I have been married for 20 years ....awwwwww x

Just my ears in the usual place for one set of earrings. Other places look like "ouch" to me!

Hi all my name is mark
I have been diabetic for six years tablet type two
Finding it hard to get levels down.
Hoping to seek advise as I don't seem to take it in as for real
 
Know what I find if I have a bag of sweets my bloods don't go up that much but have a bag of crisps it rockets lol so I tend not to eat them also guys and girls a donuts will be ok for you as it seems not to touch my bs told the docs he said it's just sugar realy but to those who are still high after a few years is not good that's what happened to me and it went to see a different diabectic doc and we have finally sorted my bs levels out but it's now down to me to keep them level ie eating right and for me that's hard.
