Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hi, I’m Sofie2 from Norway. Female in the beginning of the 60-es. I like to walk in the nature and visit towns. I adore my grandchildren. Have traveled in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Tsjekkia, England, Scotland, Israel, The West Bank, Spain (Mallorca), Italy, Turkey and Poland. My favorite city is in Kraków. I believe in God. To say that is perhaps to classify oneself among the “nuts” nowadays?. I don’t agree. :) I know many people with high education who believe in both God and some sort of evolution (and am among these myself). They have a genuine interest in how “things” are put together. Science is about testing out hypothesis; try to get valid and reliable knowledge about our world and everything upon it. It is impossible to test out how God works. Faith has to do with the spiritual sides of life, while science is about trying to find the best knowledge in different areas. To me the most important is that people of different religions or no religion at all learn to live peacefully together, take care of our environment and fight poverty all over the world.

Enough about that! I came here to find somebody to talk to about my diabetes2 that is not too friendly to me at the moment and perhaps to be of help to others.

Thank you for a warm welcome! :) Yes, I wonder if Paracetomol (I have a flu) have any impact on the medication (Metformin). I am to take Metformin 850 mg in the morning and Metformin 500 mg at the evening. I woke up at 3 am this night with heavy breath and heartbeat (that started before the flu that broke out at Christmas Eve).Really lucky this year ... lol The bloodsugar was 10,8. when I woke up this night. Low fever after using Paracetomol for some days (38 C). Do I have anything to be frightened about?

Hello Sofie , sorry that your feeling poorly but having flu or fighting infection can put your readings up . I take strong pain killers ( paracetamol and codine) with my metformin and insulin as I have arthritis and my bg reading are not affected.
I hope you feel better , keep drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Hi, I was diagnosed with t2 just before Christmas, phone call from my Doc, started on metformin and recommended to go an see the practice nurse in 4 weeks to discuss my diet. That is all the information I got. I am a nurse but do not specialise in this subject, so I feel I'm being left out on my journey to health, x
