oh Karen !! id be keen to hear the outcome and cause.. but im sure there is an answer.. Do you test your sugar daily ? would have thought you would see a rise with that?

HI I'm type 1 diabetic, was diagnosed with diabetes in 1998 I've been living with this condition for 24 years. I have no complications as of yet thank god, I am on novo rapid and levimer. I'm very much overweight have been going to gym eating less and nothing seems to be working I'm on here to help other people with their diabetes and hopefully get some advice on weight loss and see if any type 1 diabetics have or have had a prescribed medication from their GP that can help with weight loss.

Hello, I have been type 2 for about 10 years. Most of my time I am well managed but if I have to take oral steroids my glucose control goes totally out of control. Hi! Just joined after a really nasty experience on another diabetes message board. I hope my stay here will be a better one.

My name is Lilith. I'm from the USA, but I have many friends around the world that I've met and become great friends with during my little job position on a virtual petsite, since 2009. I have type 2 diabetes, and I was diagnosed in 2019 after completing chemo and radiation and BEATING stage 3 BC. I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic during my treatment, but my then-doctor refused me any medication to help control BG, and failed to educate me on what I needed to do to potentially keep it from becoming full-blown diabetes. I didn't really take my diagnosis seriously, and just kept eating like I was eating before - LOTS of carbs! Until several months ago when I was hospitalized as a result of my BG being over 500. Since that happy little event, I have changed my eating habits very drastically. I went from junk food, takeout, and subsisting on mostly carbs, to eating salads, preparing more meals at home, and watching my carb and sugar intake much more closely. A month ago I took it a bit further and started eating very low carb and decided to prepare ALL my meals at home rather than simply some. I'm feeling a whole lot better now as a result, and my BG is looking great too. I did have to ramp up my complex-carb intake some though, due to a now chronic (yet undefined) physical problem that is sapping me of all of my energy.

My current medications are Victoza, Ozempic, and Lantus. I was previously taking Metformin but had to come off of it: it was causing general malaise and some chest and kidney pain as well. So far I have seen the best control since starting the Victoza about a month ago. Haven't managed to drop many pounds though, well at least not after an initial drop of about 10.

I love meeting new online friends, connecting with like-minded people, and I cannot stand intolerance! My work that I mentioned previously, it keeps me young! I am always interacting with younger generations, learning about them, their lives, their families, and the struggles that they come across over the years. It hurts my heart to see anyone treated with cruel words, rejection, or intolerance, so if you are that person, please avoid me!

I am looking forward to virtually meeting you all, and to learn more how I can live my best life as a Type 2. ♥

Hi, today I was diagnosed with type 2 after a routine blood test.complete shock! I’m confused and feeling emotional at the moment but hope to find my way around this forum. I’m 62, have limited mobility and a 6 year breast cancer survivor I also have chronic pain syndrome/ fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, lymphoedema of the trunk plus other conditions so as you can imagine this latest diagnosis is quite depressing.

Hi all First told I was pre diabetic 3 years ago. I was told if I eat healthy it would not progress. I do and it has. I'm not over weight, I'm active. My brother has LADA, no other diabetes in my family, mum had Rheumatoid arthritis . I try and control my blood sugars with diet but it made no difference. For me, controlling diabetes through food alone is like driving a car and the only means of control is with your accelerator, accelerate or de-accelerate. You have no brakes at your disposal. A slow car crash!

I was diagnosed June 2020, was a shock, still trying to come to terms with it. I have gone low carb.

Not sure if I have introduced my self here or not so,

Diagnosed. with T2 after a blue light job to hospital, HbA1C 138!! No symptoms what so ever, no inheritance as far as I know and my diet wasn’t all bad. I attended the diabetes classes, they were extremely useful. Went low carb. I’m still trying to get my head round it, I’ve had a bad 2-3 years as previously diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation‍

I love swimming for exercise, like walking and yoga but femoral hernia last Christmas I had to just STOP and still trying to get back to the yoga and walking exercise. I have an exercise bike and cross trainer, so now trying to re-a quaint myself with them

LOVE lots of crafts, first and foremost I love photography, then my bobbin lacemaking, colouring, pastels etc etc.
Love my 2 old cats, nearly 20 oh and of course the ole man, been married for 43 years 15 Sept.

Sorry too many questions....I am a veteran and have had diabetes for over 20 years ....I am very introvert and as Im paraplegic tend not to go out too much and also dont want to catch covid. I am Type1 diabetes. Injecting long acing insulin 6am and quick acting 20 minutes before each meal. This does cause me some problems as I only ever really ate one meal a day ......I find it hard to eat three meals ....plus I am on so many meds I dont know if anyt react against my diabetes.
