Type 1 Diabetic since 1974 as a young child. Have boiled needles, kept syringes in meths and moved from beef to pork to human insulin.

Attitudes to Diabetes (cf "sugar diabetes") have changed mainly for the better but I still get enraged when dealing with ignorants regarding important decisions about my life.

Have a constant paranoid fear of complications.

I am a professional lobbyist, am a Palace fan and a keen though not especially talented cyclist. In reality, I have much more enthusiasm than ability.

As a T2 I don't presume to ask if I can help you with anything, but I do welcome and salute you as a survivor. I guess you can put things in perspective for us. Hope you stick around.

Like previous post I'm a type 2 on insulin, but welcome to the forum. Great hobby to have....

Hi and welcome. I assume you are now fully up-to-date with pens, Basal/Bolus and so on. Hopefully if your blood sugar has been managed well in recent years your fears will not turn out to be valid
