A HbA1c of 54 is peanuts. Seriously, a lot of people here have come back from way worse. And they weren't all per definition people who were mentally in a good place either, yours truly included, so.... If we lot can do it, so can you.

https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html Have a read, it'll give you some basics... And a couple of things you should know: Carbs, which are a T2 diabetic's main problem, will demand more carbs. They're addictive by nature, and having them'll make you temporarily feel good. Bit of a roller coaster.

If you know you've got a problem eating a lot, try shifting to things that are good for you. Have those around in spades in the fridge. And no, I don't mean rabbit food per se, you don't have to live off of lettuce, but maybe make sure you have lots of hard cheeses around. Extra dark chocolate. Olives? Dunno if you do bacon, but, yay bacon? It feels lush and decadent, and none of that'll raise your blood sugars.

As for fat and lazy, I think that's a bit too easy with the blaming. Are you lazy, really? Or are you just depressed and fatigued all the time? Because high blood sugars can make you feel bone tired before you're even out of bed, as can depression, and being high can mess with your emotional well-being as well. And you develop insulin resistance, which makes you put weight on. You don't get diabetes because you're big, you're big because you're diabetic. Common misconception, that.

Diabetes isn't going to kill you any time soon. With a HbA1c of 54, you can be back in the normal range when they do another HbA1c, 3 to 6 months from now. You can control this. And you can stave off complications. You can be there for your family, and live to be a ripe old age.

You've got this.

Hi Anand, With an Hba1c of 54 you should only have to make a small adjustment to get back into good numbers. The important foods to avoid as much as possible are, Breads, potatoes, rice, pasta, anything grain based, and most fruits, berries are ok within moderation.
Base your meals around protein and fats, meat with the fat on, eggs, cheese, fish above ground vegetables are usually ok. Cook with real fats, butter, ghee, lard and olive oil. Never be afraid of cream and butter etc, they are your new friends. If you eat this way you will be properly satiated, and will most likely lose weight without really trying. It's the carbohydrates that cause weight gain, not fats.
Many of us here have pretty good control of our diabetes, without having to resort to more and more drugs. Try reading the success stories thread for inspiration, there are many different ways to gain control, and everything you read here are peoples actual experiences, they don't all work for everyone, but there will be one that works for you.
Chin up and don't worry, you've come to the best place possible to win this battle, nobody is judgmental and we all only want to help a fellow diabetic.

Don't worry I am fine now, I have restarted 500mg metformin, daily exercise, no sugar , no night time binge on junk food and hoping for best , I hope to delay having to be on insulin till death

Anand, my HbA1c was 68. I've been on a low carb way of eating for a few months now, and have almost lost 3 stone (42 lbs). Along with the excellent info posted by @JoKalsbeek, you might be interested in India’s 1st Low Carb Conference. There are three days in total, but here's a link to day 1:
