I Googled celiac disease and the questionnaire had about every possible symptom there is, including "short stature" lol. All I can tell you is when the microvillae in the duodenal part of the intestine go bye bye you can't absorb some nutrients (like fats) and you generally have loose foul smelling poop, and are apt to lose weight. My niece who got it happens to have a twin sister (who didn't have it) and she looked like a Biafran baby compared to her. The GI specialist took one look at her and said "she's got celiac". What they did was an EGD to look at the lining of the intestine. But if you have the disease it doesn't come and go until you quit gluten. She got back to normal pretty fast too.
