Type of diabetes
Don't have diabetes
Thankfully I got an appointment but it is in 2 weeks time and I was just wondering if there is anything I can do in the meantime to lower the impact of my symptoms as it is very frustrating?
Thank you

I haven't had any tests done as of yet but for the last 2 weeks i have been feeling overwhelmingly thirsty and hungry all the time which causes me to go to the toilet up to 2 times every hour or even more!!
Sometimes I decide not to drink as much to reduce the amount of times that i am needing to use the toilet but that just leaves me with a huge headache and I feel sick to the stomach. I am always feeling as if i have no energy and there is always a dull ache at the back of my eyes. I am also noticing that I am getting out of breath very easily doing things like walking up the stairs which is weird for me as I am normally fit and healthy.
I just wanted to know if there was anything I could do about it in the meantime

If you were T2 then you could reduce your symptoms by cutting down on carbohydrate, BUT

If you are a T1 diabetic you need treatment now, not in 2 weeks. If you can't get your GP to see you then I'd go to casualty.

Have you had your sugar tested with a finger prick test to determine if it is dangerously high? Are you vomiting? High sugars + vomiting might be ketoacidosis, which is dangerous and needs treatment in hospital. Go to A+E when in doubt.

where do you live drink more water and agree get to a hospital to get checked for Blood Sugar Levels a finger prick test will be a guide if not definitive of what type etc

I havent had my sugars tested recently and i am not vomiting but i am starting to feel sick and the blurry vision is getting worse.
If i start to vomit i will definitely go to A+E. Thanks

I live in London and I will drink more water instead of juce. I will get my sugars tested after school tomorrow.

Thank you soo much to everyone for replying it means alot to me!!!
Happy New Year!!

I would advise popping into a chemist today and asking them to do a prick test that way you will know if your blood sugar is high and they can advise you what to do

Should be today especially Boots as even though it is bank holiday most shops will be open. They are where I live all the shops in town are open still pushing the sales

Just had a look on-line. Not one single pharmacy open today in my town. The nearest is 12 miles away, and not one of them a Boots!!

OK, I've just worked out how to read your previous posts. 15 and a fasting blood sugar of 7.8 5 days ago?
The symptoms of Type1 1 diabetes can develop very fast....
In your position, I'd phone 111 and tell them your symptoms.

The shopping centre is open in my nearest town about 2 miles away 10am to 6pm today and Boots there is open from 10.30am to 5.30pm today . I went to Sainsbury's this morning and their pharmacy was open but think that depends on the individual stores if they open them today.. I don't except many small pharmacies will open they are it's not in our village
