Hey guys !

After 2 days every single type of infusion set(both, plastic and metal) are causing me a tones of pain. Right after I make the infusion set It starts itching, skin around t turns red, and after 2 days or earlier it completely destroys my sugars . When I take it out I have Pus coming out of the scar

it's been worst and worst. It doesn't seem like either allergic reaction to metal or plastic infusion sets. but maybe for adhesive

I'm currently using Sure-T and silhouette from medtronic

I'm not in a position to change my treatment to pens or any other methods for insulin injection too :/ my diabetes is so unstable and inflicting with my other illness related to hormones that it would be a nightmare
Plus I currently don't have any way of getting any other brand of infusion sets.

Any way to do something to prevent the Adhesive Allergy ? and have any of you guys have this kind of situation ?

I use SkinTac to create a barrier between the adhesive and my skin.
Thankfully, I am not allergic to SkinTac.

I am lucky enough to get SkinTac with my pump supplies but I understand they are available on Amazon.

I use Cavilon spray by 3m which offers a film of protection on the skin, it has helped reduce redness, soreness and it was prescribed by the NHS, I find skin sensitivity can vary all the time though, sometimes it's ok other times very red/sore, also using the sure t's.

So basically I can apply additional layer of adhesive from other brand, like the one you mentioned, and it should give me some protection or prevent the reaction for the adhesive from the original substance on infusion sets ?

I mean I can try. Not sure if it will work, and I don't see anything like this available in Poland unfortunately. But I will pay anything to get rid of this nasty issue.

Any other brands to test out/recommend ? :) or possible methods of replacing the tape on the infusion set with some temporary one ?

Hi @TheMiziko Yes it works with adhesive but acts like a barrier between the adhesive and skin so a film of protection, perhaps try Amazon for it ?
