Issue with Libre - blank screen

Hey! I literally just posted about the same thing!!
Yes, I’m having the same problem too. I managed to get through to someone on the phone after being on hold for 2 hours!!!
They have said they updated the app and it’s gone wrong and they have people working on it at the moment. However, they are unsure of when it will be up and running again
yep i have the same problem

ive done this but i dont seem to have the button at the bottom i used to press to then scan.
Has it gone because there is no need to scan any more? My understand is that the purpose of the upgrade is to use BlueTooth instead of NFC so your pp should be automatically showing your readings without the need to scan.


I’ve managed to get libre back, lost all data though
Have you looked on LibreView?
Whilst the data has gone from the LibreLink app, the LibreView website (which you access via LibreLink.com using the credentials you used to register) will have all your data in a format that is easier to interpret than the app

It’s ok using a third party app until you need to start a new sensor. This can on,y be done in the libre app or on a reader.

Having said that I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro. I updated my app yesterday, but don’t allow libre to access Bluetooth as I use XDrip4ios. My libre app is still working and I managed to start a new sensor with it this afternoon,
I also have an I phone 13 and this morning around 9am the app went blank. Can you please post how I install the app again as I don’t have clue with mobiles

The instructions have been mentioned previously on this thread
1. Remove the app on your phone by holding finger over the Libre icon and then ‘x’ to delete..

2. Reinstall Libre View from purchased apps in App finder. To do this press your profile pic or initials, in the top right of App Store

3. Select Libre View from drop down and reinstall- you will have to enter your account details, or get a password sent if forgotten.

4. Scan existing or new Sensor

I couldn’t restore from my past purchases either however there is a really good fix, download the free Shuggah app from App Store. I found it at midnight when I realised there was a problem, some lovely person posted about it. It s SO much better than the official app as it turns our Libre sensors into a proper CGM, no more scanning! Still getting my head around the alarms that you can actually change, but now have my blood sugars popping up on my calendar (so on all devices) and as a banner when I open my phone, and as a label on the app button. Will be hard to go back to the official app after using this one but will have to at least check in with it every 8 hours for the NHS data I guess!
Thanks I’ve download Shuggah and it certainly is working for me. Like you say need to sit down for a little while (or maybe longer ) to get my head round alarms etc but I’ve got the readings back thankfully. Just messaged my brother who is also Type 1 and his sensor just stopped working. I’ve told him to download Shuggah too. So glad I came on this forum. I’d have been lost without it. Thanks again. Hope this issue is rectified by Abbott soon.

It’s really important that libre send you replacements for their errors. The NHS should not have to pay again. It does take 3-4 days to arrive though but it probably costs the NHS £50 per sensor if not more. I self funded before they were available on prescription. I also had one fall off when on holiday and reported, stupidly forgot to bring BG back up or a spare. I went to buy a BG kit and with strips was very expensive. Sainsbury had a private pay libre and charged me £70
I had similar happen in Cyprus twice. Lost their stickiness in the heat and the pool BUT now have the round cover and plaster which work well - highly recommend

Got through to Abbott after 1 hour 20 minutes to be told nothing I did not already know from postings on here. Guy was saying they are working on it hard and hope to have it back up and running soon! He said once it is running, we will not need to download the app, it will simply start working correctly but with advanced continuous monitoring; I will believe that when I see it. Thanks to this site I have downloaded Shuggar and got it working, and it has advantages! Connecting it to your sensor requires patience and persistence, but I got there in the end. What concerns me is how I will activate the new sensor that I have to put on in two days time; I was never given a reader. I did say to the guy at Abbott that I thought it was awful that they had not put information on their website and made it very visible.

Ok just fixed the problem on my iPhone.

I downloaded Shuggah a short time
ago and sensor is working fine on it. Would you suggest I just keep with this until sensor ends and then reinstall Libre from purchased apps? Thanks for your time.

There was a recent update, I believe. Have you updated the LL app?
It is the updated app that is causing the issue unfortunately. If anyone hasn't updated it yet I wouldn't as mine was working fine this morning. As soon as I updated it blank screen and crashing

app is no longer availible in ios app store
Top right hand screen on your personal App Store account. You can access previously “purchased” apps.
The librelink app prior to the “update” should be on your history list..

Hope this helps.

Will this delete all my data.
It will delete your data from the LibreLInk app.
It will not delete your data from the Cloud which is available from LibreView.
LibreView allows you (and your clinic if you share your data) to view all your Libre data is easy to view graphs.
You can access LibreView from LibreView.com using the credentials you used to register

@Jaylee as a Moderator, can you arrange a Sticky thread about this problem (and maybe merge the many threads).
The same problems, solutions and explanations have been repeated many times over the last couple of days.
It seems the Search function is not obvious enough.

YES.
Read the threads above about accessing the app from your purchased apps
