It just got too much

Well rather embaressing to put out there but I decided that if not here , Where... I overdosed on lantus yesterday after drinking bubbles... no celebration atall just another day of blood sugar madness sore fingers and feeling hopeless.
Well obviously something went wrong ... or right some might say as I'm still here ...she said (doctor)bs was 1 and I was close to being in a coma .... I thought to myself... ****** , how nice it would have been to nap for a while.
Rest and not worry atall about food and drinks and bloody numbers.... but alas no.... so I'm home now I'm not sure what to do with myself actually... think I'll stay in bed...
 
Hey Nessa, alcohol can cause your blood glucose levels to dip so would definately put it down to the bubbles, get yourself a glucagon pen for future, also ensure someone is trained to administer it, your nurse will run through this with you.

Pick yourself up and dust yourself down, you are best getting some rest and taking it easy, glad you are ok :)

Yes, you're right: If not here, where? Here, you're definitely with people who know what you are talking about! A good idea too to rest in bed and not beat yourself up about getting it wrong this time. Keep one eye on your numbers: :)
Tomorrow is another day....

bless you, its hard at times but don't feel that way yeah.

Having a rest will probably do you good but try not to think that way, easier saying than doing sometimes I know

You messed up but you got help and hopefully had a good sleep or rest. Don't beat yourself up.
T1 is hard and as you say, you never get a vacation! All you can do is get on the horse and keep riding gorgeous!!

You know what I'm going to say - don't let the b*#%* diabetes win! I know you've been absolutely struggling with highs but that's not your future. Once you get help in dealing with your possible insulin resistance and get your doses right, then diabetes will slip more into the background, yoyr sugars will be better, and you can concentrate on enjoying your family

You know there are many people who care about you - keep going X

Yes I do feel the care from you guys on this forum. It's really comforting. I have great family an friends but it's so invaluable being able to share an know that you guys understand because you live it too. Nothing NOTHING compares too that. I'm back at the pools I went today I loved it so I'll go tomorrow also . I have free gym an pool membership under our disability allowance so I'm going to utilize it and get fit mentally an physically. As I have put on 8 kg ... I saw my dn today I see her again Friday she wants too see me weekly an for us to keep me stable so I can have a pump in 3 months. So that's a goal I guess too. So that's what I've put in place so far. I'm relaxing back watching tv and being a bit gentle with my thoughts so as not to go into a negative space. One day at a time... my dn said too that the nurse that read the c.peptide test didn't no what she was saying and mine is on the low side of normal. She's asked me to bring in all my lancets and we're going to give me another one and she's going to go thru it with me... I look forward to that. The hospital ones don't hurt atall...
 
Well, it sounds like you've got some positive things out of an awful experience - the promise of a pump, better finger-pricking equipment, and regular DSN contact :)

And that's interesting news about your C Peptide test too. Hopefully, that will explain why your BS went so high without insulin. At least you know the proper facts now :)

Enjoy the pool and be kind to yourself. Sometimes it takes something bad to make us appreciate all the good things in our lives.

You need one of those glucose pens. If you drink alcohol, give yourself a little booster!

Pretty good so far. I'm doing the lchf diet an starting excersise my bs are between 6 and 12. So not bad for a week. And I feel like I've accepted it all finally lol. Which is probably why it feels easier too. Thanks for asking.
