Went to Melton Mowbray, our nearest Lidl, round trip over 30 miles. Loads of rolls, I got 22, will keep me going for a while. Hurray.

A round trip of 404 miles for me, so do you think you could buy up all the rolls left @carol43 and then position yourself centrally in the country and flog 'em to us for, say, 35p each??Went to Melton Mowbray, our nearest Lidl, round trip over 30 miles. I never have problems getting these rolls, on the odd occasion I want one. Is there a problem with supply?
Good ideas on the sigs/leader board, but I am a Failure. I've only got one left! I think a dawn raid on the two Lidls near me is required as it seems they are lurking in various other places. If not, I am saving the last one for a blow-out lashings of butter topped with crunchy peanut butter topped with crispy bacon sensation. Perhaps at EasterAre we going to start adding the size of our hoards into our sigs next? I’ve only got five...

Blimey, I can hardly be bothered to get to my Aldi's which is 3 miles up the road, I am in awe of the dedication of many. I do like the Aldi rolls but find that sourdough bread from the Coop is yum and has a similar effect to the Aldi rolls on my glucose levels (without insulin). I think it is something to do with the acidic process they use. Of course, everyone is different.
So in my freezer now I have 47 (had 3 left) half rolls wrapped in foil, I'm not boasting.
Hi bluetit, yes, the low carb ones. I am following a low (er) carb diet too, up to 50 carbs per day. The sourdough bread does have 18 carbs a slice so I know that's higher than most want to go but I do my testing before and after and it spikes me less than 2 points as does the lidl roll. 'Normal' bread on the other hand spikes me by 4 or more points so I no longer have that.Which Aldi rolls are these? it is the Lidl high protein (very low carb) rolls that are in short supply/threatened with being discontinued. I'm afraid those of us that are Type 2 and controlling with just diet or diet + Metformin have no choice but to be dedicated! (also T1s that follow low carb or keto diets)
You should be carol47 then!So in my freezer now I have 47 (had 3 left) half rolls wrapped in foil, I'm not boasting.
