At times I do think that we really do live in a quite crazy country!
Most of the visitors to this forum are fully aware of the problems that non-insulin-dependent diabetics have in getting test strips prescribed on the NHS.
Yet, I read in the Sunday Times this weekend that "Jack Straw, the justice secretary, has called for the HNS to give out heroin on prescription to addicts for whom other forms of treatment have failed". Yes - heroin! What a crazy world we live in! We really do need to get more of these politicians fighting on behalf of the way that diabetics are treated and the advice they receive.
If anyone hasn't already done so please support my e-petition on 10 Downing Street regarding the advice that we receive and the prescribing of test strips.
The petition can be found via the link below:

One or two people have helped me significantly by asking friends and family to also support the petition. That seems to have been particularly useful where people are regular users of Facebook and similar sites. I really do want to ensure that the petition gets enough support to ensure that the Goverment are certain to make a response.
