@Chloesnavy Be aware that as it is an apprenticeship, there will be an element of study involved, as appreticeships lead to a qualification. If I was really keen on getting the job I would tell of the suprise holiday, and see if they think a start date after the holiday would be best. Also, would ask if there was any reading or other preparation I could do. (Only do that if you are actually prepared to do that prep though).
The Disclosure and Barring Service checks, which replaced the CRB checks can take quite a while and we are nearly in November already. They may not be completed until after your holiday. Go in to the work trial with confidence, and be open and honest with your potential employer. Oh and relax, smile, the children in the nursery will warm to you.
