Thank-you
I just got the results of my blood test this morning....I haven't spoken with my doctor yet. I will be honest I don't currently eat well. I currently eat a lot of white bread and my husband loves pasta so we eat a lot of pasta. I try to incorporate vegetables but I'm not great at it....in addition my husband only likes peas, carrots, and corn....it's expensive to purchase groceries do two menus.
I exercise but not as much as I used too.
Not sure what to make of the numbers on my test results. I had my blood tests sent to me directly and they say I have diabetes but I'm not sure what my numbers mean.....help?
My HB 1ac was 7% and my glucose reading is 7.4
Not sure how bad this is or what to make of it.
Hi. I think the 7 figure is the HBA1C in old money i.e. 7%. Your number of 134 would be in new moneyHi @DebTompkins to put into context your HbA1c of 7 and fasting blood glucose of 7.4, my initial HbA1c was 134, with fbg north of 20.
You would abviously not want to have diabetes. You have a number of options which include:
Diet
Diet and Exercise
Intermittent Fasting
Drugs
Your numbers are relatively low, so you might want to look at the first 3 options first. Some of the diet protocols are LCHF (low carb high fat) which can incorporate a Vegan or Vegatarian version if meat, fish ans diary are not your thing, Newcastle Diet, which is a low calorie "shock the system" diet for circa 8 to 12 weeks at around 800 calories. Some might also try a Whole Food Plant Based Diet.
I am tagging @daisy who can provide some getting started information.
Yes mine is old figure, the conversion is 20.3 mmol or 14.4%.Hi. I think the 7 figure is the HBA1C in old money i.e. 7%. Your number of 134 would be in new money
