Hi everyone,
I had my 3rd HBA1C test on Tuesday after being diagnosed with T2 last November, results this time are 39, last HBA1C in May/21 was 36, I'm delighted with these results as my diet in the last 3 months has been absolutely awful, I had 2nd breast cancer scare in 12 months (benign, thank goodness), but it brought on severe anxiety and I've also had an infected tooth and infected abscess under my arm (it's been a fun time...sigh). My DN had taken me off Metformin but I asked to be put back on it because of my eating, I take 1 500mg tablet per day. My weight has gone up by around 12 pounds in 3 months but I had lost 40 pounds from diagnosis through lower carb diet, is that what's keeping the numbers down or is it the medication? I know I really need to get my diet back on track and I'm determined to do it, I've got lucky this time, my poor pancreas and liver must be working overtime to try and keep this under control, but I'm 46 and I know I need to be more responsible with my diet and exercise. This needs to be my wake up call now, back to lower carb eating, no junk and way less wine, dust off the old treadmill as well and get exercising. I think the key for me is going to be keeping my weight down and I really want to do that, 2 and a half stones to go now to get to my healthy weight level. I'll get there, eventually.
Maggie
