LCHF affecting bowels?

I know this is not a nice subject but

Does the LCHF cause bowel movement.

Every diet should be causing bowel movements - if you eat, you poo. Is there any particular kind of bowel movement you are concerned about? Are you having loose stools or are you constipated?

If you have just started LCHF it may happen. It did in my case anyway. After a week or two it settled down. Perhaps one of the symptoms of carb flu?

If you read all the naysayers about low carb, you become constipated because you don't eat enough roughage or complex carbs!
Indeed, since going very low carb, the only problem I've had is when I had a bout of diahorea because of something dodgy that I ate!
I just don't have a problem with my bowels since diagnosis!

I did suffer from hemorrhoids., but they cleared up soon after I started low carb.

Metformin definitely!

I went very solid when starting on LCHF and it lasted quite a long time, tried various things and never sure if any had any beneficial effect.... I would say looser is better than solid.... but probably only coz I been to solid. It seems better now.
Wish you well.

I was constipated frequently before I went LC. No problem since.

No problems for me. I take a magnesium capsule every day, which may help regularity, but probably the higher fat intake helps more.

Too many veggies constipate me. I don't digest all that fiber well. I do however digest avocado very well and keeps things moving. Before low carb I lived in a chronic state of constipation.

Was a little constipated at the start, so increased my intake of green leafy veg and started making and eating seed crackers. All fine since.

One of the ingredients of the seed crackers are psyllium husks, which provide excellent roughage without the carb.
