It may be another cause too.... bursitis, strain, arthritis referral pain. Have you asked the Dr.?

Nobody on here can or should attempt to diagnose or even suggest whether what you have is or is not diabetes-related. I'd strongly advise you to get a medical view. Yes, there are "diabetic" things that might have an influence, but there are other possible causes as well.
