We are not medical professionals and therefore cannot answer your question. I suggest you discuss this with your GP.

Generally speaking lower insulin resistance will lower lectin resistance. Lectin is a hunger / satiety hormone. Once we achieve lowering insulin resistance and maintain good steady bg then lectin falls into place.

I love his book and it was the key for me to gaining good bg control

Basically a low carb, moderate protein with enough healthy fats to satisfy.

You're referring to Lectin, but I'm speaking about Leptin. I think these are different things :)

I think that's just a typo by @Kristin251 ? I think the book is about leptin. Look at the link and read it....

Edit: I hope Kristin gets notification of this tag :);)

That article you linked to isn't especially kind to Dr Rosedale though..
i didn't read it before posting. I just deleted the link. I love the Rosedale diet but was in a hurry. Won't do that again haha

So what is the most effective treatment? I've read conflicting methods, some saying eat fat, others saying not.

See a doctor to get a proper diagnosis.

Most importantly, then follow the advice you're given....

My doctor doesn't understand all this stuff.

I was referred to a dietician, but i've just been informed they refuse to see me. I shall nknow more tomorrow when i collect the letter from the surgery, but I'm assuming it's ultimately as the doctor warned me. She said they would just refuse because they think this, essentially, is a question of eating properly/faddy diet etc.

Leptin resistance is currently been researched in Cambridge using a collection of children around the uk. My son was nearly part of their research. His leptin and insulin resistance was good so was dropped. :)
The researching the influence into child obesity.
I looked up how to improve leptin resistance and I read it was where the brain receives mesages to say still hungry.
The books advice was 3 steady meal preferable at same time of day, every day. No snacks and plenty of water.

I've received a new dietitian appointment even though I told specialist I don't want to see them as I'm losing at mo.
Everytime I see one my diet goes to pot. :(

Unless cardiologist has booked it? It doesn't say what it's for.
Unless I must see dietitian when changing insulin?

A good article.
Leptin suppose to piggyback insulin resistance!
When my bgs are good , steadily I have satiety not due to fatty foods as I've reduced mine to lose 8kg so far. High bgs increase my leptin levels , I guess. Not just because I'm obese!
Insulin with matched carbs and protein are helping me lose weight.

I'm not sure I could be insulin resistant (though I am overweight). As I had occasional blood sugar crashes before, surely that's a sign of insulin sensitivity? Blood sugar enters the body, insulin is meant to moderate it. If i'm crashing then that's got to be because it's maybe too sensitive?

My son was part of research done by a Dr Philipe Barielle at St Georges Hospital, Tooting about 20 years ago.
