If you're towards the slim side a smiler needle will definitely help no have some padding on my tummy but not my thighs, hence the smaller needle. 1mm makes all the difference!
I'm afraid I get help with the baby question though. I'm a new Type 1!

They told me to pinch an inch which I can do on the side of my tummy but not my thighs, I think you may have hit the nail on the head with using a smaller needle for the thigh thothank you so much for your help x
