Libre 2 not working so well

I woke my new libre 2 sensor up yesterday evening i had applied it 24 hours beforehand, I just knew it was going to give me trouble. I had a piece of toast and peanut butter as I checked with libre and finger pricking before bedit was nearly 2.0 out on libre this isn't uncommon but I have had better ones, I dint get to sleep to the early hours then next thing I know my alarms are going off on my libre app i just knew it so I finger pricked 5.6, when I woke up at my snack hadn't even shown up on my graph even though I logged it with a scan and so on has anyone else had this
My glucose has always been fine through the night

Hi,

Were you woken with a low alarm? If so. Could you have slept heavy on the arm with the sensor, causing a "compression low.?"

It's quite a common phenomena..

I have I on my the side I sleep as trying to avoid older sensors have been
 
I feel for you as having all of the same problems and having to self fund just makes it worse .Changed to libre 2 to warn me of nightime hypos but have had to turn alarm off as it keeps waking me in the night and at first just had jelly babies then after a few of these false hypo alarms tested and 5.4 so not 3.1 as reader said so must have been raising blood glucose when I was actually in perfect range .Just hoping libre 3 comes soon in uk

Do you place your sensor inside or outside the arm?
I found inside the arm I don't get these false alarms during the night.

Staying suitably hydrated seems to help also with the sensors level of accuracy too..

It's slightly both so it's slightly compressed. Yes staying hydrated is key. Guess I'm in for a crappie 13 nights sleep, still learning best places for the sensor

Have to keep alarms on as I don't want to loose my driving licence i have just badly placed it

Give Abbott a ring. There's a good chance they'll replace the sensor for you, though there's also a chance that it will improve after a few days, assuming that the low reading is caused by irritation from the sensor (an issue I sometimes have with dexcom).

So yesterday it went off all day and in to the early hours, I phoned Abbotts and getting a replacement. When I peeled off my sensor there was a large amount of dried blood and sticky blood it had seeped through under the stickyand was easy to remove I wonder if this is why it wasn't working correctly any options
It has been sore.
 
To be honest sometimes these things just wont work well, they could never be guaranteed to be 100% infallible - tech is never guaranteed to always work, so you did the right thing and got Abbott to send you a new one, just have to apply a new one and carry on as normal

It may have been the extra blood around but to be honest its best not to speculate and ponder as you will likely never know the exact reason.

Being new to this I try not to speculate to much get the next one applied and hope for the best
 
I do not know why your sensor was less accurate. It is unlikely to be due to hitting a blood vessel and having a bleed.

It may have been out because you only just inserted it. Some of us find that our bodies take a couple of days to become familiar with the alien object stuck in our arms causing the readings to be inaccurate. Therefore, we insert our sensors a day or two before activating them.
For this reason, I would not report an in accurate sensor within the 2 days after inserting.

Hi,

If it was pretty easy to remove...?
I suppose it's possible the sensor had not adhered to the skin properly, & was lifting the filliment out of the interstitial fluid layer under the skin?

I inserted it 24 hours before activation as I find that works fine

It was stuck on the outer rim of it but not so much under the sensor it was just dried blood on the sensor and a nice bruise just one of those things pot luck in the end
 
Libre for me is phenomenally accurate which obviously I am happy about. However you do get the odd duff one. Frustrating as it is I jus5 slap another on and within an hour I’m back in the flow. The last one hurt, stopped working and indeed when removed had a whacking great bruise underneath.
One of the women who I follow on Twitter from America has just had her only way of testing blood reduced from 6 strips a day to 4 by her insurance company. On top of the vast sums she pays out for insulin. Quite frankly I will put up with the foibles and hoops we have to jump through here. It doesn’t always go to plan, but at least there is always something there to catch us.

My last one was absolutely spot on. I think I just got sick of the alarms when my bloods were in 8 or 6. I have had a week off from libre hear we go again
